Best luxury spas to spend the day
The Spa at The 12 Apostles
Renowned for being one of the most opulent spas in Cape Town, the 12 Apostles Spa is a bucket list experience. Situated within the Table Mountain National Park and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, experiencing a treatment in one of their outdoor gazebos is a must do. The 12 Apostles is a great place for couples to celebrate their big days as it has combined male and female facilities. Facilities include plunge pools, salt water flotation pools, Rasul chamber, a health bar and a tranquility lounge.
Price:Do Note their prices are more than above average. A 45 min back, neck and shoulder massage will set you back R660.
Hours: 8am-8pm
One&Only Spa
Simply one of the most elegant and luxurious spas I’ve had the pleasure of attending. Everything about the One & Only Spa is a cut above the rest; from the remote-controlled, heated massage beds to the glass massage room with a view. Their facilities are great – but do note that male and female facilities are separate, so this is a great spa to go to with friends, rather than as a couple.
There is a plunge/ vitality pool, a sauna, a steam room, special showers and a relaxation room with healthy snacks. There is even a device to dry your swimwear with. Read our full review here.
Price: Better save up for this one. A 50-minute massage can cost R795.
Hours: 8am-8pm
Life Spa @ Crystal Towers
One of my favourite things about them is their attention to detail. I love the lush, fluffy blankets and the heated socks they put on during treatment. They also have a sauna and steam room. It’s a pity they don’t have an indoor pool but the outdoor pool is glass-bottomed and very cool. They also have a Rasul chamber and floatation pool.
Price: A 45min Back, neck, and shoulder massage will cost you R430
Opening hours: Mon-Sat 8am-7pm. Sunday: 8am-5pm.
Jiva Spa @ The Taj
A luxurious and uniquely Indian Spa. They use spicy, Indian scents and have treatments such as cupping and Indian head massages. They have an indoor, heated pool but it’s not very hot. They also have separate his and hers vitality pools, saunas and steam rooms.
Price: A 60 min Indian Aromatherapy massage costs R750

Best Value for Money Spas in Cape Town
By “value for money,” I don’t mean cheap. These are the spas that have great facilities but don’t charge the very high rates like the spas in the previous category.
Stillness Manor
This is a hidden gem nestled in the Southern Suburbs. They have a sauna, a steam room, a large indoor and outdoor pool. The package prices are pretty reasonable and you can literally spend the day relaxing at the poolside. Read our full review here.
Price: A 45 min Back, Neck and shoulder massage is R425
Suntra Spa @ 15 on Orange
This spa is great value for money. They have become quite popular for their laser hair removal specials but they are also a great spot for massages. They lack the added facilities such as a sauna and steam room but the hotel pool is available.
Price: A 45 min back, neck and shoulder massage costs R350 (one of the least costly in this category).
Best spas in Cape Town for a quick Massage
These spas don’t boast great relaxation facilities but they are great if you looking for a quick pamper session.
Fresh Wellness
This spa is situated in the tranquil Constantia area. What it lacks in facilities, it makes up for in highly skilled therapists who can put even the toughest critics (i.e. myself) into a slumber. Read our full review here.
Price: A 45 min back, neck and shoulder massage costs R390.
Steenberg Spa
This lovely little spa is situated in the gorgeous Steenberg Golf Estate. I’ve been there a few times and I am always amazed at how relaxing this spa is. Their therapists are also highly skilled and they have a relaxation room for you to unwind in.
Price: 45 minute Back, neck and shoulder massage is R420
Spa @ Banksia
This is a lovely spa situated at a boutique hotel in Rosebank. They actually do have a heated pool and jacuzzi which is great. Also, men can have any treatment on the spa menu.
Price: 45 min back, neck and shoulder massage costs R400
Medical- Aesthetic Clinics
This is where you get your super high-tech facials and botox. They actually have a dizzy array of treatment available and highly informative websites. We haven’t tried these yet but we would love to.
Laserderm
There are branches in Claremont and Century City.
Skin Renewal Clinic
They have 5 branches around Cape Town: Cape Quarter, Constantia, Claremont, Stellenbosch and Willowbridge.
Renascent Health Group
They are based in Pinelands, find out more info about them here.

Oooh, love this post ladies. from another spa junkie….
I also quite like Century Spa at Canal Walk for a decent massage that is not too expensive.
I was about to recommend Century Spa too! They’re modest but good enough 🙂
